Bellavida Internet Speed
Since the resort went ‘digital’ we upgraded to the faster 15mbps service, but until now we could only listen to guest reports of how fast it actually was.
Well we now have a speedtest report for the connection in the villa, and the answer is fast!

Im quite used to having a ’20 mbps’ service at home in the UK, which actually ends up at around 6 mbps, so its nice to see here in the villa the 15mbps advertised speed actually means just about that!
Bellavida is going ‘digital’
The cable TV system on the Bellavida Resort is being upgraded to a digital service, bringing more choice and 15 new HD channels.
We are told this will be happening during this month, and when complete the basic package will have 108 channels and an improved internet service with up to 25mbps available.
At the moment all homes on Bellavida Resort get the same cable tv package so it is interesting to see the words ‘basic package’ as this would indicate there will be upgrades available, hopefully these will be made available soon!
We also need to change the Tivo DVR system in the villa, but again apparently there will be options available so watch this space!
Luxury Villas Near Disney – The Benefits
Most of our guests already realise the benefits of renting a villas. Many have stayed in a villa elsewhere and are bringing the rest of the family to Orlando for the ultimate Disney experience so I will not start this post with the usual ‘villas offer so much room’ and ‘imagine breakfast by the pool in your pjs’ etc. Even if it’s your first time i’m sure you will have read this before so it does not need to be said again!
I wanted to share is the benefits of renting villas near Disney that you may not be aware of, but that we have discovered over the years. It doesn’t matter if it’s your first time in Orlando or if you visit every year, there are always things you may not be aware of and this post is about the benefits of staying in a luxury villa, but using the Disney hotel attractions.
Google Maps Updated
Well, after 3 years of looking like a large sand pit on Google Maps, it looks like Google have updated their maps.
They still seem to be about a year old, but at least now you can see more of the built resort rather than an entire construction site!
More WildLife at the Bellavida Resort
If you go down to the lake today, you might be in for a surprise! A guest staying at a friends home took the photo above and sent it over to them!
Cranes on Bellavida
We get a few people asking, because Bellavida is still quite a new resort and they are building some new homes is there a lot of construction work, cranes etc.
These are the only cranes we have ever seen on Bellavida, even when they were building dozens of homes together!
Bellavida Clubhouse Upgrades
Just been down to the clubhouse to show the kids where the sand volleyball court is located and found they have now added a ping pong table and indoor mini basketball shoot game inside the clubhouse.
I’m wondering why I didn’t know about it already, but its neat anyway as we now have a ‘full suite’ of pool table and air hockey in the villa, and ping pong and the shoot game in the clubhouse which is only a few hundred yards away.
The clubhouse cyber cafe was also being upgraded when we went up, so they had moved a couple of computers into the gym for a couple of days while the work was being done, Ill go back up on Tuesday and take a look at that new room as well.
We have some full size basket and volley balls in the villa for the sand volleyball court, but they are looking a little soggy so i’m digging through the cupboards to find the ball inflator attachment, it will be somewhere, of if its not Ill be back up to Walmart to buy a new one!
Its nice to see things happening and moving forward all the time, especially in this recession.

Who’s watching who?
We have been out at the villa for a couple of weeks now so I thought id just add a quick post before dinner as two ducks have just wandered past the back on the pool screen.
It made me think, who is watching who, we are sat inside the pool screen which is great as it keeps the bugs out, but from the outside it may well look like we are in a zoo enclosure, especially with the kids running round!
There seem to be lots of animals in the conservation area. We have seen racoons and possums, wild turkeys walk past every few days and the ducks seem to come just after the sprinklers run. They probably follow them down the street getting a free bath.
We have seen no gators, snakes or spiders thankfully, but we know we can call David at the management company if we do – and stay inside our pool screen!!! .
By far the most abundant wildlife are the geckos, they are very cute and run along the back fencing all the time.
With the exception of the ducks all the animals run as soon as they see us which is good. The ducks do the opposite, we think they are quite used to humans and may not be helping by feeding them the stale bread.
Off to dinner now, Uncle Chris is cooking chicken on the summer grill, smells great!
